Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.

US performer Pat Finn, who featured in beloved TV shows such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.

The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in Los Angeles recently having undergone treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, as reported by news outlets.

"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones stated in a statement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".

A Prolific Career on Screen

His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.

He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous well-known programs, like:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series over nearly a decade.

His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Away from his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a six-person improv troupe called "Beer Shark Mice".

"Finn taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote publicly.

The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
