Brian Eno Urges Public Help to Propel Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The project seeks to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Possibility for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it doesn't manage to, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's powerful central theme.

“It has a profound significance for a lot of people,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Featured Artists

The single was laid down in the wake of a solidarity show held in the autumn. First conceived to be performed and recorded live, the performance was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The notable list of musicians featured on Lullaby includes a selection of prominent voices from the music world. All were part of the earlier concert, which successfully generated a considerable total for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a trio of music creators. The single features a mix of the heritage language with freshly written English words.

The organizers behind the campaign have stated that their goal is to collect the highest amount for a charitable pot. These donations will be distributed to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a figure explained. “We will pursue as much as possible. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. It all goes out to Gaza.”

The reality in the area was characterized as its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of buildings reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a handful of millions won't make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made accessible to view on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
