From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences growing in influence within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of characters who will split off from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might seem unsuited, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a intense opening clash with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—used the foes for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, attacking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as important members in House Halovar could assist the group access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to travel to Timmony in quest for Casimir.
What’s Next?
According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we find out that the combat party won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to assemble the Seekers and Strategists tables.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be where in the season’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
