Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes across the region in response for a significant and continuing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any destruction is uncertain and the US has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with notable success and shot down a number of missiles," it added.
Officials reported wreckage fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
