The Perfect Pokémon Tales: Z-A Super Form According to the Zodiac Sign
The return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread excitement across the community. From the one-by-one reveal of fresh additions before the game's launch, to trainers forming strong views on the entire roster of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for enthusiasts to look forward to.
Given numerous of the Super Forms boasting unique appearances that highlight their traits, one thought naturally: How can connect this with astrology? This list is based on a mix of intuition, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.
Aries – Super Camerupt
Honestly, Houndoom was almost selected for Aries, as they are the Mega Pokémon and zodiac symbol that evoke the most fear. But, a Super Houndoom comes across as constantly furious, which doesn't match the Aries vibe, renowned for being fun, cheerful, and spontaneous. That's why Aries much more akin to Super Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Stay on the good side of either and benefit from a powerful partner; should you offend them, be ready to face the consequences.
Taurus – Mega Heracross
Similar to a loyal Bull, the reliable Heracross, both in its standard and Mega form, has aided numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, each the Pokémon and a Taurus are also battle-oriented, and – be it their trainer or a firm belief – will stand up for their position to the end. The thing about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, however, is its unabashed love of treats. Many previous Pokédex entries mention their craving for sweet sap and how it uses its appendage to collect it all, which is true Bull-sign vibe.
The Twins – Super Medicham
Look at this absolute royalty. You cannot tell me this creature is not the soul of every party, offering an endless fountain of gossip to anyone who wants to hear. Just like an captivating, gregarious Twins, it's incredibly simple to imagine Super Medicham captivating an whole open area with their stories. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also mentions its ability to predict an opponent's next moves, which sounds very similar to a socially-savvy Twins.
Cancer – Mega Manectric
The Crab is commonly regarded as the most sensitive sign of the zodiac, a intense symbol known for often becoming absorbed in their emotions. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “tremendous quantity of electricity, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to completely manage,” which seems a lot like a typical Crab crash-out. This Pokémon is also recognized for its ability to create a storm cloud over its very head – and if there’s one thing a Crab is going to do, it’s spoil their good time.
Leo – Mega Starmie
Oh, did you think I was planning to select Pyroar for the lion of the stars? Besides the fact that it would be far too obvious, Leo is obviously Super Starmie, the diva whose legs just became an internet sensation for being too glamorous (or horrifying, depending on your preference). Fans were captivated from the purple sea star, and that’s precisely the same energy a Lion brings to the table. This Pokémon is also said to be transmitting signals from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Leo to be putting on a performance, albeit for extraterrestrials.
Virgo – Super Victreebel
The ever-prepared and perpetually-anxious Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual digestive issues. The sign known for being charmingly judgmental is clearly mirrored across this creature's entire lineage, from a perpetually surprised face like a Maiden when you tell them you don’t have a 401(k), to its upside-down visage that’s just like the emoji a Maiden posts to the group chat when everyone says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of making a plan.
The Scales – Mega Audino
Look at this gentle, empathetic creature, who uses the feelers on its auditory organs to tell how others are emotionally by their heartbeat. Consistently empathetic – sometimes to a detriment – and striving to keep the peace, there are numerous Libras who would probably appreciate Super Audino's skills. However, let’s be honest, it would likely just cause them to stress even more about everyone else.
The Scorpion – Super Banette
Banette is a creature with a surprisingly tragic origin: Abandoned as a toy, it became consciousness through sheer hatred and vowed retribution on its previous caretaker. Per the official info, Mega Evolution, “enhances its vindictiveness.” That seems exactly like several conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpio acquaintances. A Scorpion adores karma and retribution, making them the ideal pair with Mega Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Both Super Hawlucha and Archers are always putting on a show. Being a Sagittarius myself, the amount of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “silly little entertainer” is countless. The showiest and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Archer match I can think of.
The Goat – Super Absol
Did you know that a Mega Absol has the power to predict disasters ahead of time? That gives the identical vibe as a Goat, who tends to consistently think they’re correct. The thing is, similar to a visionary Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute initial Super Form that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to get in on the beginning of the Super Form craze.
Aquarius – Super Chandelure
Aloof element Aquarius is arguably the non-flame sign that is closest to a flame symbol – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being chaotic partners in crime. Mega Chandelure’s double Ghost/Fire category matches perfectly with this, and the Mega’s general daunting presence is also very Water Bearer. If you weren’t already convinced, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “absorbs negative energy and converts it into power.” If that doesn’t exactly {encaps
